Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Is AT&T next ?

Story by Dan Gooding • 2h • "MSN"

"Microsoft is under growing pressure to account for its H-1B visa requests after announced another round of layoffs this week, affecting around 9,000 employees across its global headcount."

With all the off shore lies that management seems to tell and we KNOW that the same management is leveraging the H1B abuse to augment the deficit from these layoffs of older workers, will AT&T be in the crosshairs next? Or will they get another pass ? I spoke to a law firm last week, and they have had SEVERAL successful lawsuits over the past 10 years against these corporations doing exactly what is unfolding here. I've said all along, if you don't file with the EEOC while this is under the spotlight, you may miss your real severance package?

Is H1B what stanky was referring to when he mentioned more jobs resulting from the Lumen acquisition

@eh

“It’s strange to see in this layoff site too someone attempting to dismiss AT&T's unethical actions votes to zero.”

It’s T’s act of desperation… I see it as a win..

Do your part, get in on all your elected officials social media feeds and start pointing out the need for legislation to lock out cheap foreign labor via H1B in the telecom industry. Point out that they just surpluses / targeted older employees in order to keep their cheap under qualified H1B labor. Point out that the BIG LIE is that these H1B’s actually have less real world qualifications and their paper mill certifications are garbage and nothing but props.

@jk my friend, how many of you are technically prepared to work in the era of AI? What AI skill you have (other than firing away questions on GPT)? You appear to think that a certain nationality is enough to qualify for a highly paid and competitive job. If you have the stuff, believe me, no one can bypass you. The crybabies are the ones without skills or stamina. Sorry to be blunt.

Now that the unemployment rate for US citizen new grads rate is high and the coming of age of AI, should Rubio cancel unnecessary H1B visas and force companies to train US citizen new grads instead?

@cr " Jeremy said over & over he doesn't want contractors. Many I know of have already been let go."

As the old saying goes, "How do you tell when Jeremy is lying" ?

Anyone who has attended his clown halls knows the answer...

AT&T has now recognized their mistake and wrong deeds specifically terminations related to cobc, so they may have outsourced the work to Mahindra to negate such negative comments to vote out zero, so they not look like an offender.😁😁

No company that has a single outsourced worker or H1B via contractor or otherwise should be able to bid on ANY government contract... That is what you need to be demanding and emailing your state elected leaders about. You remove government contracts from these balance sheets and watch how fast things change.

Give it a rest already. Stop blaming others for your whatever issues you have.

Funny how you zip your entire face shut when DEI is brought up in the conversation, huh Jeremy? Why is DEI necessary then? Oh, I see. Those excuses are ok. Sure. Whatever you say hypocrite. You lost all credibility and people sp-t at your feet.

@dc No point arguing here, when everyone knows truth. Actually its AT&T who violated Code of conduct and should be locked down for unfair treatment of their employees. And it will happen for sure. One or other day someone will provide all evidences , just wait and watch.

“Although employees were working more than 8 hours, supporting outside core hours , night support , weekend support.”

It has been verified employees terminated for RTO weren’t even working 4 hours a day. #COBC

AT&T terminated there employees under cobc to not show it as layoff. they tricked there employees, they knew they didn’t send clear message and also people were misinformed that when it would be 5 days a week it would be certain hour presence in office would be required. So they took advantage of it and terminated there employees under cobc to inform DOL that its not layoff.Although employees were working more than 8 hours, supporting outside core hours , night support , weekend support.

No company should be given even a 1% tax break if they are using foreign workers when the unemployment rate in the US is greater than 1%. Conversely, corporate tax rates should be fluid and increase at double the US unemployment rate.

Ask cotton farmers in the 18th century

Cotton farming didn’t get going till the early 19th C when seeds were smuggled out of Mexico and new lands were acquired

AT&T prefers to layoff its employees, then outsource to consulting companies that get h1b workers at bargain basement prices. They keep their hands clean that way.

Stankey and His other CEO friends prefer people they can threaten with visa revocation and deportation instead of just people they can fire. You can't compete with indentured servants. Ask cotton farmers in the 18th century. If one player in the market is using slave labor and you can't stop it, you can either join them or go out of business.
