Ok now that round 1 of layoffs have taken place, what does anyone know about round 2? I’m sure we all are smart enough to know there’s multiple rounds and a list.

Most likely there will be "targeted layoffs" every single month for coming years. Yes, years. There is zero stability here and USB is a terrible place to try to have a career no matter what your talent level and dedication is. GK and her minions can go fu-k themselves.
@bj Layoffs are a way of life here now. I feel like I hear about one daily. Sad to see the company go down the drain.
Bigger layoff after they see if anyone leaves after bonus so probably April is what I am hearing. But unsure of numbers or to what degree or level that will be happening. But it is happening. I think CEO has a number in mind what that is not widely known but she won't stop until it gets to that number.
2026 layoffs are more targeted to individuals with a bullseye on their back, and companies are laying off every day. The round of layoff will be cost-cutting the budgets maybe once a year.
@bj Which bank are you working at cause it for sure isn’t this one. Since I’ve been here I’ve witnessed many who were here one day and gone the next. They cut every quarter.
Every month in 2026.
I would assume you work in a call center where shelf life is pretty limited and employees have no clue what USB is currently compared to where it used to be. Need to know principle for you, and you don’t need to know.
@bj 👋
@bj a good number were severanced today from a variety of areas. Happens regularly.
@bj you must have just started. USBank almost always has larger layoffs in 4QTR every year. In addition to smaller ones spread out in other QTRs. Training budget almost always gets suspended before June. Travel budgets are usually frozen by summer every year. If you are lucky and can get approval for a new req, you better find someone to make offer to fast because most of time req will be frozen before you can hire anyone.
I have yet to see or know anybody who has been laid off at this company since I have worked here. Maybe elaborate on exactly what areas you are speaking of and not generalizing.
Layoffs are everyday. Lines are blurred so there is no round 1 and 2 anymore.
Tomorrow seems most likely
