Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

ETL layoffs to be announced in February

Been a faithful team member for 22 years and married to a corporate employee for 20 years. 800 to 1,000 ETLs will be layed off in February. The attrition will be focused in the GM areas, and the Senior Food and Beverage ETL role will be eliminated later in the spring of 2026. Tough times ahead, but these moves should help us stay competitive. Just praying my job isn't eliminated.

Earnings and forecast look bleak. I could see closure of stores once they juice them for the holidays one last time.

@196 wait and see. Target is moving in a different direction to right the ship. Got let go with a thousand other dedicated team members a few weeks ago and it's coming to the store level in the spring. The markets want to see Target operate differently. The knives are being sharpened, but if your a higher performing ETL you will be spared.

This doesn’t happen in stores. The business fluctuates so much. Stop lying!!! Never have we ever eliminated store operator roles. Headcount’s within stores change and stores are tasked to get there through attrition but never has anyone been fired in my 24 years.

Trimming leadership head count at the store level is the next move in 2026. Most stores will need to trim $400K in leader payroll by March. It's going to be sad to see all the layoffs.

@bj Executive Team Lead.

These are the people at individual corporate stores and manage a team of "Team Leads". GM is "General Merchandise"

Interesting if it's happening. Sounds like Target wants less managers at the store level, and those roles will be consolidated in some way, or management structure changed drastically.
