In my opinion, VoA is a circus. If BD really wanted honest feedback, this platform has more than what needed for diagnosis of the issues. Do you expect anything to change with that survey or is it just to warm some “leader’s” pocket?

And what the fu-k with the lack of anonymity. Someone needs to sue BD out of their a-s for this.
@10m what if my manager is good but restrained but the layers above? Should I say “No, he doesn’t support me”?
This VOA survey is a complete joke! Can't believe someone thought it's a good idea to ask these questions: does your mgr support you? does your mgr care about you? How about flipping those questions but instead of saying "mgr", say "BD"? Cos if you do, the answer is 0, not 1, but 0
@bh not sure whether nepotism played a role here, but the survey design lacks scientific rigor. This maybe due to practive of poor hiring. The underlying issue often lies in the composition of the interview panel and the final decision-makers.
Weaker leaders can exhibit psychological defensiveness when evaluating candidates who are more capable or bring different perspectives. This cognitive bias limits their ability to recognize and value different ways of thinking, leading them to favor individuals who mirror their own competencies and viewpoints rather than those who could elevate the team. BD currently going through this challenge.
We have many so-called high achievers who lack real capability. In day-to-day work, they become aware of their own limitations, which creates a sense of insecurity. That insecurity often turns into bitterness, leading them to justify decisions or behaviors that shouldn’t be justified.
The biggest trait of a weak leader is the inability to accept mistakes. Over the last 10 years, I have rarely seen BD leaders own their mistakes; instead, they double down. If you look around, you will find many clear examples of this.
@bh a nepo disliked this comment 😄😝
@ba Exactly how I felt when I saw those questions 🙃. I’m pretty sure a kindergarten survey would come up with more thoughtful questions than this. And the “anonymity”? Practically nonexistent. In an age where AI can take scattered ideas and turn them into a neat, insightful two-paragraph summary, they somehow chose to just show raw statements from the participants.
100% sure a nepo got the job to design those question.
As a people leader I’m embarrassed this was our survey. Leadership is not a likability scale. I like my VP I’ve known him for years, and he likes me. What does any of that have to do with leadership. I can tell a joke, I can compliment a coworker, I am social. - but am I an expert in my field? Do I put quality first? Do I stand up when it’s clear they want me to sit down and comply? Leadership is about integrity. You want to work for someone you respect. Someone as smart or smarter than you. Someone that has your back because you have their back. - My manager presented the survey results and slides HR provided, everyone was respectful but quiet. I won’t insult my director reports and pretend that a 5 question survey that took 5-min to complete is not a waste of our time. Anyone think Tom P direct reports did not give him a perfect 10? 😜
Total joke. Like everything else at BD
@OP Nothing will actually change. In fact, if you provided negative feedback, your manager will likely try to find out who did it and use their authority to retaliate.
BD is very toxic environment now, stay safe!
