Will be done by 2p today and have 8.5 hours at work. I will be deducting that 1/2 hour from my Friday work day to reduce my average weekly hours to right around 40. Awesome way to start the weekend!

@rb Believe what you want, but I am living it. I am not the earliest at my level. My teammate is in at 5am, about the same time as my boss, and half of the remainder of the team is in by 6am. My AVP sits in his office about 15 feet away but doesn't come in until around 8am since he has reserved parking and a dedicated office.
@d5 Please. BS.
"My leadership was pretty clear to us. It’s 5x8. "
Our VP was pretty clear also. He said that as long as we were averaging more than 8 each week and no one day was a significant outlier, then we were safe. He knows the reports are still inaccurate so he is not using the report as a tool of precision.
My leadership was pretty clear to us. It’s 5x8. Not 40 a week. So I work 6 to 2 on Friday.
"Your manager is a stooge for letting you start this early."
LOL -- My manager gets into the office before I do, so GFY!
Your manager is a stooge for letting you start this early. Also, the expectation is 5x8. Not very smart on you and your managers part.
Just do whatever you want like you always have. Non union= no rules. I caught a manager doing his daily badge and leave last week.
@bm justify it however you want. Before my laptop was on 24/7 and checked at all hours of the day. Now my laptop shuts at 1pm and isn’t opened again until 5am. This isn’t the flex you think it is.
This is the way, I love that we can leave halfway through Friday!
How many do you average? Be sure to subtract all bootlicking activities from your total. Those don't count.
@bm you’re now getting 40 reduced from 50-60. Enjoy!
so we are finally getting 40 hours out of you part timers
@bh 40 hours per week
Why would I do anything more than the bare minimum for someone who says “Loyalty is dead”
I refuse to do even one minute more than the 8 hours required now. That’s how I get mine back. If the meeting isn’t within my 8 hour schedule, oh well, try again tomorrow. Too bad!
If the time of your meeting is after 2PM I’m not joining it. That’s my commute time now. If I didn’t have to commute then I could join, but now I can’t, sorry not sorry. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
"Don’t you guys have meetings through out the day?"
I decline meetings that are late afternoon. Oh well . . .
@aa oh no, that’s awful…..since my exemplary rating translated to a 3.5% raise and slackers on my team got 3.2%, can’t say that HR messing with ratings bothers me that much…..
@ae nobody cares about your made up meetings. Your poor planning is not an emergency for me. If your meeting doesn’t fit in when I do my 8 hour window then I’m not joining it and I don’t care, even a little bit.
I log 20 hours a day on monday and tuesday and then take wed,thurs, and friday off every week. It's great!
@ae if you would like me to join your meeting please schedule it during MY working hours. I no longer have the same flexibility I did before Covid due to the 3 hours per day I now spend commuting.
Don’t you guys have meetings through out the day?
@aa That will be interesting to see. I wonder how HR is going to address my working hours that supports my clients? Good luck to HR trying to enforce that!
@aa Until the company declares work hours (which will be risky), HR cannot do anything about it.
Expect lower rankings moving forward. Even through your direct leadership may keep you as a top performer, HR will start downgrading scores moving forward due to lack of presence in the afternoon among so many.
I log 10 hours a day Monday through Thursday and don’t even show up on Fridays at all anymore.
