Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

BIG OFFER COMING IN MAY!!!

Now that the company has got its contracts wrapped up, the targeted offers will begin. Expect enhanced buyout offers for NTS and Com Tech titles. I’m waiting on my 104 weeks and planning a well deserved vacay!

There are talks of this for mainly Office Assistants going to the field to do Wire Tech work. The biggest thing we are doing as leaders is looking to give the Wire techs a good 25% bump in pay and to bring everyone out of core contract. Since the Wire Techs are the majority, we can carry the contract and eventually eliminate who we want from the Core with a minimum buyout.

104 is for Comm Techs and NTS that were Comm Techs that were forced into the NTS title. I was a surplus victim as a Comm tech and jogged to an NTS-G title.

Comm techs and NTSs that started before 1984 get the 104 weeks

Just stop it. You’re not willing this into existence with you’re repetitive dimwitted posts.

NTS doesn't get 104 weeks. Their article 43 in leg T contract has a modified payout cap at 50 weeks. Comm tech article 41 looks like it qualifies for the 104. Honestly hope they offer and you all get it, left a few years ago, maybe I should have held out.

@bg they did offer SW core DEG techs enhanced severance in Houston last year. $50k on top of severance. I worked with one of the techs that took it.

Orange mobility pushed out for 2 more weeks of negotiation... Contracts are wrapped up though

The math doesn’t work. They can afford to let you sit and get volunteers to leave for 50k. They can do simple math.

Deg se is moving to Afo. They plan to consolidate many outside dispatches. Deg will be dispatched with ssim to help with load. Next contract all ost’s will be one title. The reductions are planned once they consolidate groups and determine how many can be let go.

@ba Legacy T has a tentative agreement, while Orange is still negotiating, and it's not going well. The company is stalling every chance they get.

Hey napoleon. Keep dreaming bud. You’ll never get 104 weeks. You’ll have to quit. Believe that.

They don’t have to pay $200k to reduce the headcount by 1. I did hear yesterday about a voluntary layoff for DEG in Oklahoma. I’m sure it’s larger than that.

The Orange Mobility and Leg T contracts are wrapped up you say?

Wrong.

And stop clearing you cache and downvoting people correctly stating this will never happen.

Pathetic.

Yeah yeah, we’ve heard this story before. Haven’t seen it yet. Not going to happen, that’s why they agree to it. Only the most junior guys will get cut, then they double and triple the work on the senior folks until they have enough and retire.

I would agree. They’ve got the money and they’ve eliminated the watermark. One big beautiful buyout offer will clear the decks and allow AT&T to go forward as a largely non union company.
