Our manager talks about work/life balance, but cuts and voluntary departures mean the workload just keeps growing. Its becoming exhausting and nobody seems to care. I don't know how the rest of you are dealing with it, but I'm this close to walking away, and I don't even have anything lined up.

@r6 same should be done with every manager, VP and exec. Siege heil.
They keep up with every mouse click log and off
@at - Unless you started at 18 as a CSA, you should be set.
Exec better keep their paws off our pension.
38 years of service and can't retire. Will never make it to 62.
In Billing. 55+. Expecting to get "invited" next round in March. It does not scare me.
In fact, if I make past the cut, more pension.
State Farm has always been a company to bleed its employees to death. Promise you the moon and pull the carpet out from under you when you start to reach for it. The honest employee does not stand a chance. Take note of that youngins. They careless about you. The will use you to line their pockets.
@bk yes, I started at 23, 36 years in and I am only 59. Trying to make it to 62 but doubt I can put up with it too much longer.
@bg well if you started at age 25 or younger, at 35 years you're still not 62 yet...
If you leave at 55 you loose over 30% of your pension. Almost no one makes it to 62. When is the last time you met anyone at State Farm that is over 60? State Farm makes sure they totally trash you before you get that old and that way they keep the pension overfunded and their contributions to a minimum. Oldest trick in the book, over promise and under deliver! LOL!
The pension isn't great. You have to work till age 62 to get full pension. That's why no one can retire. That's also why they have such high salaries on the books. They need to change it so employees can leave earlier with full pension.
@at 35 years and can't retire? That's a joke!
35 plus year employee here. Give me severance to free up the payroll. I am ready for some.free.miney and pension payments for the next 30 years. These young bucks.can work and pay my social security also.
Don't quit! All you have to do is figure out the minimum amount of work you can do to not draw attention and then watch Netflix and relax the rest of the day. I am able to watch Netflix 5-6 hours during the day and my boss thinks I'm a rock star! And, you'll continue to get EIP!
Don't walk away. Do less. Quietly quit.
Is old timers have our pension so we are just coasting until we get fired.
What dept are you in?
