Fear-based environment

Does the new cohort of managers know that fear-based management is not the only one in existence, and that it certainly isn't the one to result in highest productivity? I swear, the more somebody yells at me, the slower I do my job. Intentionally. These "leaders" need some lessons in people skills.

What is HR saying about these abusive practices? All the training on "Doing things the right way"; surely HR is not OK with this. Assuming it is getting reported.

@a4 I love how middle managers are calling themselves leaders now. It's hilarious. I see it too.

@bf, Me too. And don't question these cowards who are quick to write you up and then run from any open dialog regarding their actions.

Why are you letting people yell at you?

@a4 FACTS - Competent customer care leaders who asked real questions were removed by leaders like SLT in Rochester, NY. They don't know what they're doing so they prefer people who know less than they do and do not push back. The writing is on the walls.

The middle management that’s left has been retained by design. They never push back because they fear losing their own jobs.

Strong management that fought for their teams openly and more importantly, behind closed doors are gone. Now you have those that either use direct threats or are passive aggressive in their methods to try and get those results.
