@c4 try and hang them all for treason if guilty - most have committed very high crimes and should have been among the first deported in the clown president’s “crackdown” (and not by private jet - by raft in the Atlantic)

@cw
Spot on - OPT is way worse.
Total number of H1B is like 65K yearly, but OPT has no cap.

Plus companies can pay them whatever they want

Don’t forget OPT - worse than H1B.

Indians and Chinese fresh graduates. No cap, no oversight, no minimum salary requirement.

about 500K every year and for the STEM graduates, they can work for 3 years —- no questions asked

Americans are sc--wexxd

Eliminating offshoring needs to be the higher priority.

@cb Anglo Saxons can presumably speak English, so you're not getting in.

I’m only for of Anglo Saxon background immigration. All other should be stopped for couple of decades. After that it should be only super intelligent talents.

@c9 - Our government truly needs to do more for its own citizens, this is the point. Flooding an overly saturated market with H1Bs results in the opposite. I know the rules as you stated with your glib 'Sigh', assuming you are here to educate all of us.

@c7 Sigh. I really shouldn't argue on the internet. At least educate yourself on the rules - If an H1B loses their job, they have 60 days to find something else or leave taking their kids, often US born, with them. Own a house? Find a renter or sell. Own a car? Sell it. That's how life is. Do some of them get other jobs? Yes, they do. Do some go on tourist visas, which is perfectly legal, to get some more time? They do. Point is they aren't breaking any laws. They're doing what the law permits them to do. Why not ask lawmakers to can the program? If they don't do it, vote them out. This hatred of H1B's when all they're doing is following the very laws that is the keep of Congress is a cop-out. Americans very well know that most of their elected lawmakers need money to fight elections and H1B supporting corps have expensive lobbyists. It's easier to hate H1B than to get their lawmakers to listen to them. Plus, the anonymity offered by the internet is far easier than to go in person to a townhall to take on their local Congressman or US senators and ask them about the H1B

@c1 - its really simple, qualified US citizens in this horrible job market should be hired before H1Bs, which is certainly happening. Why else are H1B non-citizens even here ?? Until the job market approves, H1Bs should be reviewed and dropped when Americans are out of work... the ability to flood the job market in these difficult times should not be permitted.

hmm, let's see:

kids of immigrants? Trump, Cruz, Loomer, Obama, Vivek, Haley. Oh wait..it gets better. Jobs, Bezos, Sergey Brin, Musk, Larry Page, John Collison.....oops. Time to cancel Apple, Google, Tesla, Stripe, Paypal and virtually the whole of Silicon Valley?

Good grief...Groypers are even better than Goebbels considering how well they have convinced so many people that all immigration is mostly bad

@bx Based on what stats are you saying that H1B's are 'replacing' Americans? On the count of H1B's every year? The average Laura Loomer follower has no idea that the average H1B stats generally include new and renewals. New cannot be more than 85k a year, The 100k's and above that you see includes renewals which is due to a peculiarity of country based quotas for employment based green cards. The average Indian's count in the stats will show up multiple times for 10-20-30 years till the green card allotment. Everyone else (minus Chinese to some extent) falls off the list after the first time as their timelines for employment based green cards are 2-3 years (and in some cases maybe 3-4 due to delays nowadays)

But, I know this is the internet and that no amount of truth or stats will convince some people - the one's who actually believe they are being 'replaced' by Indians. You guys gotta decide...legal immigration good and illegal immigration bad or immigration bad overall (except for a certain demography of Anglo Saxon background)?

  • Heavy fees to H1Bs / OPT candidates
  • Provide incentives or penalties to outsource the jobs

@bj
Good point, but I disagree.
H1B or not they will offshore as many jobs as possible.

But at least let the jobs in USA be for Americans

By the way, not all jobs can be offshored due to regulatory and security reasons,
The status quo now is that Indians are replacing Americans both domestically and international.

Stupid move. Have you not read through the recent announcements from Google, Microsoft, Apple etc. where they will invest in GCC's in India? What do want - offshore the job and let the tax dollars stay there or hope that H1B holders pay their taxes here, plough money into the economy, pay into Medicaid/SSN far more than they take out, part of their H1B fees go towards training/educating Americans in American universities etc.?

Some of the Laura Loomer cheerleader types need to get their hands on a breakdown of the fees charged for new/renewal H1B and start asking USCIS for an audit on where the fees have been going for the last few years. Start there first
