Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Prediction for Oracle

Oracle will split like IBM did into IBM and Kyndryl. OIC, OACS, Fusion, Cerner (already written off in LE's mind) will be lumped into a spin off company. Share prices might briefly drop much like IBM's, but LE will announce a larger AI deal which will help the share price recover.

Not so sure about spinning off legacy groups. SVOS (HW) was reorged into OCI a few months before the layoffs, and that group is very legacy.

CM has big mountain to climb. He can't focus on Fusion realignment. and SM has good relations with Mike.

@bm, HCM might grow. But there will be cuts in unwanted zones. The trim will be heavy to cover costs for AI. Check out for legacy components. Not exact on timelines.

@b7 so does it mean Fusion HCM devs and testers will be laid off because of AI?

@b9 Agreed, that's the reason its moved under Mike for steady rework to AI and Cloud.

Rebuilding Fusion is easier said than done. Currently it is entirely based on FMW.

Fusion Applications will be rebuilt under Mike Sicilia’s leadership. The focus is to make all apps ( HCM, ERP, and Industry) to fully AI-powered and run entirely on OCI. So these products will survive and grow but in Cloud.
At the same time, older technologies and legacy systems will be phased out. Legacy systems like FMW or older Cerner platforms in Oracle Health, will be cut to fund AI (Note: FMW support ends around 2026–2027.)
Fusion will migrate to support AI and Cloud.

Now there will be race to layoff between these 2 CEO's as well to show more profitability :)

Makes sense to me especially since now that they put in two CEOs. One each for the split. It makes sense to me, especially since they’ve now appointed two CEOs, one for each division.
