Strauss Borrelli Investigates Home Depot Layoffs

Strauss Borrelli PLLC is investigating Home Depot following recent layoffs. Home Depot announced nearly 800 job cuts in Georgia. The law firm is pursuing a potential class-action lawsuit. This action follows a WARN Act notice filed on January 28. The WARN Act requires employers to give 60 days' notice before mass layoffs.

Looks Like Home Depot advised laid ofF employees over the 15 minute meeting Call that they will be given three months severance pay from the effective date of layoff– January 28th. However, when the package was received in the mail, it said that the leader of employees will continue to be employed until March 31, but the last working day is January 28. Discuss confusion as some employees had already filed for the department of labor unemployment insurance payment requests. Those employees had to call department of labor to close those requests since they are technically still employed. This caused a lot of confusion. So it will have to be seen around the month of March 2026, what severance benefits will be offered.
