Thread regarding F5 Networks Inc. layoffs

Forced Layoffs at F5

F5 started adopting forced resignations instead of layoffs. Recently did let go 22 members and no one is talking about it.

It's very hard to choose a person from your team.

@6b2 and you should not give a flying fu-k about this. You control how you respond.

@6b2 If you call an attorney while you’re still employed then they will laugh. To them you’re just wasting their time using them as therapy/HR. Even worse if you quit or resign, they wouldn’t even take the call to laugh. You need to be fired, unjustly. At-will state? Good luck proving that. One job is not a career. When this happens find another job but do so before you resign… don’t resign because they are making your life he-l. You control what you’re exposed to… you can physically move, right?

@6b2 Actually many of us commenting do have an idea, we’ve lived through the same 5, 10, in my case 20 years ago. Commenters have told you what to do already. Many would rather act and get fired than sit around and do nothing but complain and continue to suffer.

You have NO IDEA... I've been there and lived it. They can make your life so miserable that NO amount of money is worth it... They can put you in impossible situations. Give you unreasonable work and ruin your career if you don't work 90 hours a week or quit. That's just one method.. They also remove all your power and ability to do your job and publicly humiliate you. They may change your title or remove your authority. So then if you "quite quit" they will write you up for non performance and put a black mark on your record. PLUS did you EVER TRY and call a Employment attorney???? They will LAUGH at you for a case like this... They won't take anything that isn't a easy win (most arent') and huge payout involving fraud or theft or some crime.

These “forced” posts are so depressing. Are there really people that exert no power when confronted?
Layoffs are layoffs. They are all forced. You can select the severance package, try to negotiate, or say no and get fired. That’s the choice you have.
Resignations are a choice. You have a lot more power. But if you resign that wasn’t forced, that was you giving up and resigning by choice. Better to get fired. With the latter you can apply for unemployment and pursue legal action. With resigning you have NOTHING.

@1z2 They can force kids to go to bed. No sane adult will allow themselves to be "forced".

@1z0 Exactly. Anyone weak-willed enough to be “forced” to resign probably doesn’t deserve the job in the first place. Stand up for yourself. At a minimum, stop showing up to work if it’s a hostile environment. Stop working. Stop replying to your boss. But don’t resign!

Common sense, but some don’t think this through:

Forced resignations? Are you 12 years old? Because if you’re an adult you know this is not a thing you allow to happen. This is a manager trying to rule over you. You don’t let this happen. Force them to fire you instead. There is no such thing as forced resignations because everyone knows this. You fight back you don’t just give in. All employment lawyers will tell you this. HR (from a different company) would tell you this. Forced resignations? Funny concept - not real if you have an ounce of self worth.

@1bp Are you boasting about yourself? The Terminator (slow motion) ☺️

@16y The Terminator, big guy, tremendous guy, played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, fantastic muscles, really. He comes back from the future, but not for what you think. No, not robots, not apocalypse… he’s here to clean house. And let me tell you, these middle managers? Total disaster. Meetings about meetings, zero results, nobody knows what they actually do. Sad! So the Terminator walks in, sunglasses, leather jacket, doesn’t say much. Very efficient, I like that! And one by one, "terminated".
Streamlining the operation, folks. Beautiful to watch. And just before he leaves, turns around, looks at the last clipboard-holding guy and says, “Hasta la vista, baby.”

Iconic. Absolutely iconic. Probably the best management consulting anyone’s ever seen.

@n4 They are letting their managers have power over them instead of the other way around. They will learn after a few more jobs how to manage their managers.

Heard from a friend that most of the NRIs have created a syndicate in Technology Services and are forcing the existing ones to leave including the leadership. No longer human first.

@113 oh yeah..Absolutely..But they don’t terminate the ones that are actually d-mb but instead make some others a scapegoat.

@ag forced 4% reduction? Where is that coming out of

Post ID: @c6+1kpxt7v38

@OP Last public quarterly earnings had 6,578 employees. Nobody is going to talk about 22 people leaving for whatever reason because that's not a lay-off or massive event.

Forced resignations? Umm, no such thing. If it’s forced then it’s either a firing or a layoff.

Buyouts? Yes. See https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2026/04/23/microsoft-plans-first-voluntary-retirement-program-for-us-employees.html
