@1bc for some roles, not all.
Oh no. Hope we don't get obliterated at the rate Singapore is hiring.
they are hiring 95% of that for SG R&D. everyday keep seeing "welcome X-X" in my inbox.
When I was at Illumina I was told that the Singaporean government paid for 50% of employee salaries for Illumina
Should it be true that the house of cards collapse, Singapore certain department management would have been well fatten financially to cushion any impact that comes.
Leaving the rest to scrape the bottom for scraps.
@b5 Big. And there are huge tax advantages for Illumina. As soon as Singapore realizes that it no longer wants to be ruled under a benevolent dictatorship the house of cards will collapse.
You thought you are going to get more jobs in US/Uk after visa reform? Lol
If anything it will accelerate the whole process of moving jobs abroad.
I believe it. Jobs are moving overseas because of cheap labor.

Able Ang on LinkedIn is the source!
It does not matter whether 420 or 42 positions. Factually, this site has over 1800 employees as search has shown excluding phantom contractual workers which could number in 100s.
The already fat management level is adding more people to do their work whereas they sit back claim all the success. Example, a floor manager will recruit peoples to do his job role and his role is just to apple polishes his boss.
Now, those being laid off you may want to consider applying for the open opportunity.
Salary could be equal or even better as this is a first world country.
So gather your thought and jump onto the bandwagon to Singapore site.
Please dont post stuff like this without citing a source. Illumina careers website says 42 positions in singapore.
@b5 sizeable
I'm curious, how big is the salary difference?
I was laid off today.
