@jq Carve out? You mean divesture I suppose. If so it's likely 10% will be part of the BU sales so that leaves around 5-10% max to be affected by actual wfr

Can confirm that company is actively monitoring office attendance and employees who are not complying with what is now policy will be terminated. Also, outside of sales-coded roles, there will be NO hiring for virtual employees. Waterloo is the primary favored location due, in part, to a lower salary range for Canada and the fact no health care contribution is required. In short, Canadian employees cost less.

Company IS eliminating 15-20 percent of the current workforce through WFRs, carve outs, performance and violation of policy.

Watch your back. Managers and leaders also work from company sites as they are also required to adhere to office policy outside of sales and yes, they will report you if they see coffee badging.

Get ready IBM is famous for its strict badge tracking and "move or leave" mandates

There is a massive irony in the fact that the company is pushing for "no human interaction" for its renewals and support (using AI bots) while simultaneously demanding that its "worker bees" interact in person.

@b6 my office had that too.

I work with a lot of older people and they just kept it open. All the time. Combine that with a bunch more extra scans from RTO and uh couple months later we were back to free door (unless there were guests that warranted it being closed.)

That was not the only scan related change we got, but the other one is probably a security concern if discussed.

@b4 My loc requires badging out, or you lose access. Also as an added benefit, you get to badge in/out to get to the restrooms. Not invasive at all. Perfectly normal for a civilized, respectful society.

Read the RTO policy. They track network sign ons and activity. They know whether you’re on remote on VPN or on an office network. If you badge in but then never connect to the office LAN or connect for only a short while, it paints a picture.

Had to google this term! I do it once or twice a week since we went back to 4x. Plan to continue until I get called out.

I feel least productive in an office especially if I need to do focused work.

Am in Canada if that matters.
