It's not that easy. Bribes are common among big organizations. Indian consulting companies are notorious for such activities and they have a very strong hold with top level executives. I don't think even the company chiefs can do anything about this. It's been a well established fraudulent process for 35+ years now. Bribe, favoritism, fake resumes, manipulating the immigration documents, false promises, abusing labor rights etc..
It's almost impossible to get rid of these foreign contracting companies.

Also, note that some companies like Cognizant {CTS) are registered as American companies. But you all know what they do.

IT jobs in America are designed for foreigners.

@b4+1kjzwp2w8 I agree. Directors in this space do the same thing too. They try to take your ideas, deliverables, insights, and knowledge then spin it as their own. Oh but they can't answer any questions on the stuff just want to talk or read slides. 🙄 😆 🤣

@b4 - totally agree. Citi FTEs use contractors to get their work done that is why you see quite a few Big4 employees and other boutique vendors

@b0 What makes you think this happens only to contractors? There are many FTE's who are D's and MD's who have 0 knowledge of the domain that they're a leader of. They survive by stealing credit from those junior to them and it happens all the time. Look no further than some of the MD's in the Enterprise Data Office

@aa
If only it were just contractors whose work many FTEs try to take credit for.
Within CTS I am constantly shocked at how contributions are not properly acknowledged. They make a big deal out of recognising achievements but the way the recognition is allocated is messed up: people who turn up a couple of months before a project is delivered taking all the praise. The actual thinkers and doers who actually allowed the project to be successful often sidelined as some play politics.

Most of FTEs in tech just attend meetings and pass on all the tasks to the contractors and then take credit.

Those FTEs would not prefer to get rid of contractors as they are not used to do the actual work and will struggle with daily tasks

Tech going to an 80 direct staff / 20 contractor model soon...

Why would they do that? They don’t have to pay benefits and they can get rid of them at anytime.
