Rumor has it layoffs are happening right now. Possibly dark fiber teams…anyone else heard anything?

Laid off last year. Best thing that has happened to me. Lumen just su-ks the soul right of you and your are treated like sh-t. You don’t realize it until you go and work elsewhere and learn just how sh---y that place is.
Kate talks a good game, but leadership is not following suit. So happy to be out of enterprise / managed services. The entire operation is on a remedial level with about leadership!
After being in the corporate america rat race since 1986… I am glad I instilled in my sons to stay away from it. Thank God they are in life coaching , real estate and working in a trade.
Rumors I am hearing …. There will always be layoffs.
Rumors floating around about a change in the remote work option. Managers required to go in / employees under Prigg are having to go in 3 days a week.

@b6 mass markets management is in the middle of cutting in half. It is not a normal layoff process happening
Anyone know if anything is going on with techs in the field ? CDTs, Net Tech etc, especially in the Washington area
@a5 Same thing happened to me in November. Got a call out of the blue on a Thursday morning from a manager two levels up to tell me I didn't have a job anymore. Whole team gone. We had several projects in flight at the time that we were told were "important" to the company. Apparently not.
When they lay off CS reps and immediately hire AI Advisors with double the salary…

So youre reinforcing what the the other person says? People who didnt move whose jobs were no longer needed at lumen. Nobody should be surprised theyre getting laid off if their job involved mass market fiber. Its gone. It's not coming back. Sorry but move on to something better and be happy its not the holiday season.

@a6 And no one works for Lumen and Mass Markets except techs? That is a TINY part of the company. Layoffs ARE happening today. I already know of about 10 people in my area so far.

Where? Confirm it with a location and job titles. Zero! Yes, zero mass market techs. I can believe redundant jobs that have moved away and didn’t get selected to move with their jobs will be let go. Why keep someone for a job that doesn’t exist anymore.
Yep, layoffs are happening right now. This was completely unhinged, out of nowhere, and on a Thursday. Who does layoffs on a Thursday? On one hand, they are touting recent revenues, the sale to ATT, and on the other hand, doing out of the blue layoffs to teams that are responsible for bringing up new customer orders. This company is deeply flawed.
