Currently working in technical team think about a change to the sales team next year. Can I make more money ? What's its like working in sales in the UK, they seem to do well ? What are the managers like ? Can they really earn these big ote that's banded about?
Also how long do you get to get deals on ?

The UK "sales" team can be judged on wins in the last 5 years.
As always in DXC, the wrong people get blamed and the rot continues
Don’t do it. They’ve changed the way you get paid commission so that it’s a ‘compensation plan’ and not straightforward commission on what you sell. Apparently, they got envious a few years back of the commission that many salespeople were getting and knocked it back to a fairly high retention salary but pooled commission that is split amongst your team and is consequently much lower.
I know many salespeople who have left because of this and V the other ludicrous targets they’ve been given.
Anyway, why do you want to stay with DXC? Go to another company that has some prospects.
Slaws quote is going to be increasingly aggressive more and you will never hit your bonus. The best option is to get out and have a career or stay where you can hide.
What is there to sell? We have lost all our technical people. Those left stopped caring around the last 0% pay rise before this 0%. The data centre is creaking. Mostly BAE thurst for endless VMs which do one task a week but run at full CPU checking just incase. We need technical people not more sales, and management.
@b4 what sort of run way will they give ? Would i get atleast a year to start off?
Its a pretty mental area to be in right now because the re-org. Make sure you're commitments are flexible and also make sure hit targets, otherwise you're outta here! Goodluck and Have Fun future salesman(woman?)!
