Hello. I am a journalist with the FT who writes about Optum and UnitedHealth. I have heard that there was a layoff at Optum Insight sometime before Thanksgiving. Would love to chat with anyone affected for a story I am writing. Get in touch, Mansur.Shaheen@FT.com

@OP I was impacted by the layoffs in Optum Health today.
Check out the TikTok account loudestwhistleblower she has all the info and working with the government
Just a friendly reminder anyone that still works out on your help desk is all in the Philippines your second level support team is all in the Philippines. We are handing basically all of our IT support and infrastructure support to a third world country. The US pays them pennies on the dollar compared to us. They don't even have to pay for health insurance because the Philippines has some type of national health care I guess? I assume with the layoffs today the help desk portion that is called optumrx Will the affected because a lot of other people are still in the US. If someone has the ability to nudge the Trump administration about offshoring jobs for United health group that'd be great. I know that guy's about nationalism somewhat. I just want to see a headline that says "federal government investigating if United health group is lawful in offshoring their technology jobs to a third world country because of the cheap labor"
I was laid off in May 2023 and still got my bonus
Is this layoff in January 2026 will affect those UHC and OPtum working in NYC?
learn to write fiction - it sells better
I hope everyone who was impacted by the November layoffs shares their job/age lists with the Finnancial Times. There are different lists for different business areas. We lost our jobs and go no coverage because most of us were remote and didn't trigger WARN notices.
I was part of the Optum Insight RIF in November and would be happy to share the information I have.
@b8 Why wait till January?? ?? If the company has decided on layoffs do it now and save paying that xtra paycheck or two in Jan!!
@b3
This is indeed a correct post. Jan is gonna be deep and wide.
There was an OI layoff, I know for sure. Not that anyone who wants their severance would be talking to the press.
I was laid off in Feb 2019 and my bonus was paid for 2018.
Big one coming in Jan. Right before they determine bonuses. They do this every year so they don’t fully reward a years’s hard work.
