Oracle is TOAST. The rest of the industry is taking away Oracle's customers by the truckloads. Couldn't happen to a more "worthy", rotten company. Glad I left years ago.
AI is replacing expensive software developers; this is a unquestionable fact and Oracle SAAS, database and cloud business isn’t immune to it,

When layoffs hit Mexico where cost of employees/benefits is peanuts compared to expensive countries such as USA , Canada, western Europe etc… one can only imagine how layoffs look like of these high costs countries

@cd In general it starts in the US and then goes to the rest of the world. I am EMEA based and received the bad news in November and my last day was 30th January. However I hear the RIF that was initiated in August/September 2025 is still ongoing in certain EMEA countries. So depending on the country and the legislation it takes a while. I hope the 20-30k layoffs are just rumours.

you can also keep checking regular long running threads like "Layoff running totals based on Slack", mass layoffs in locations without labor protection (NA, IDC) will be caught there the very same day with "-" count exceeding 500 a day. For the past 3 months daily there shows normal attrition fluctuation and no ongoing mass layoffs. You can check posted historical patterns there to see how real layoff numbers look now.
beware that this troll is not above posting fake slack numbers, but you will see a contradiction right away as a regular poster will be updating daily

This is crazy! Not sure what to believe anymore … posts, rumors,you tubers,… here in EMEA no news at all . GTM planning time and coming Q4 activities but NO news of any potential layouts.
It would be great to get FACTS and ability to identify them vs trolls fake news….
