How does WF track how many hours you are in office? You don’t need to swipe badge out in some buildings

I work in Charlotte wells and I badge in 8am-8:30am usually leave the building at 1-2pm go home then work the rest of the day there until 4:30-5pm then no one has said anything to me yet . Theoretically they could track how long your connected to the buildings WiFi vs vpn so they could use the time you badge in the building then say you disconnect from our WiFi at this time and used vpn in our Charlotte building we are not required to scan when we leave hybrid role for me
We all know they’re tracking average days. The question was if they’re tracking how many hours on those days. Which still seems to be unclear.
I've missed one of my mandatory 3 days In the office. My manager mentioned within a week or two, so I had to come in a 4th day that week to bring up my "average". Someone is tracking....
@a2 lol
I dont know who is responding cuz some of these answers dont make sense. I have been "coffee badging" (15 minutes in the office MAX at 4am) for over 2 years. NOBODY HAS SAID SH-T!! Down vote me all you want...ITS HONEST TO GOD TRUE
They can track it. They can’t specifically use it to fire you. But when it is time for layoffs, will make the decision easier.
that little target icon is built into windows, even your home version. it indicates there is an application tracking your location. has been there for years and there are many apps on your computer that may have legitimate reasons to track your location, such as your soft phone for 911 purposes. regardless, company has reporting on hours in office. been available to certain levels of management unlike the days in office report that is more broadly available to most managers. When all is said and done, unless your manager is taking to you, just keep doing what your doing.
There is a tracker program on your laptop. It’s also in the docking station. It reads your IP address. Looks like a target symbol, randomly pops up throughout the day.
When in the office it is tracked by how long you are connected to the company network Wi-Fi or ethernet; they also track the VPN connections reporting is refreshed consistently and available in Tableau for those that have a need to know. Within certian business groups there are 'rats' whose sole purpose in life is to monitor a d flag amy potential exceptions which will then prompt a response from the manager and employee however it is only in extreme situations of non compliance that someone is actually disciplined another reason to look forward to firing people soon
The major hubs like STL require badge in and out and they are 100% tracked. There is a monthly report that goes to upper management and will be addressed with your manager if you’re not meeting your requirements. Management is starting to be held accountable so they are enforcing it more to cover their butts. The people who are taking advantage of it are the ones who will ruin it for everyone.
They're not. It would be a huge legal headache if they truly were and used it against anyone.
I have seen the dashboard. Trust me they are tracking.
@b0 they are cracking down on this. These people are the reason why Kiker’s and Powell’s orgs are moving to seven hours per day in the office
IP addresses
They don’t. I go to Ballantyne 3 days a week during my lunch break and swipe, then leave. I don’t even have access to that building, that’s what a joke the whole thing is.
I’m still current on all my RTO goals.
@OP STFU with the questions already
They don’t - stop asking
We're on a TEAMS call all day so always there.
wouldn't be too difficult. in locations where you have to badge in and out you just calculate the difference between the first badge of the day and last badge of the day. for everyone else, they can see when you at least first badged in for the day and then monitor your network activity given they know you are logged into the network at a physical location vs. VPN.
You need to send a time stamped photo of yourself at your computer every hour of the day while you are at your desk to your boss. That is how they are tracking.
I normally just look for them at their desk. If they aren’t there, it goes down in my little notebook.
