Interesting to see that MGO is laying people off while at the same time having an insanely expensive love-in in Dallas for three days in May. Flying in everyone from outside of Dallas, the whole thing.
Did this in 2024 just a couple of weeks after another layoff round. This for now at least looks slightly less bad but still. Kind of nauseating watch Kellyn and friends yap about how great everything is after they ax a bunch of people.
Isn’t Mass Markets doing the same big expensive offsite meeting in a couple weeks after having a big surplus before Christmas’s? Lots of self congratulation for a job poorly done at the cost of $$$$$$$
@az I know a couple of lower level people who were let go for some kind of issues with gifts and the like but I wouldn’t expect anything to happen to the bigwigs.
Hi friends! Former MGO surplus person here - I’ve reported KSK, several of her directs, and the external digital agency to the board for fraud (several times with receipts). No investigation, no repercussions, nothing.
A recent, minor example at the NBA all-star game that the company spends millions to sponsor: the commissioner was on TV talking to the CEO of Comcast, after our commercial, a Verizon business ad ran. These seem like really small things, but they’re huge misses when millions of dollars is being handed over.
The CMO, her people, and the agency are swiping the AT&T credit card for millions with no actual result. And no one cares or is held accountable.
They’ll surplus or outsource every L2-L4 before giving up the courtside seats and golf outings and the board is complicit.
Smile, nod, and collect a paycheck. They’ll surplus you if you speak up, but also if you don’t. You’re not in this club.

I’ve heard of minimal surpluses in MGO when the rumor was that it would be a bloodbath.
I have been here 30 years and have no idea what MGO is. Do tell please.
