Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Thoughts & Opinions

How are folks feeling about these cr-ppy raises & no bonuses/low bonuses? Are people planning to stick around ? Do you think you’re getting laid off soon? Things aren’t looking so good right now and everyone from my team is getting anxious

As someone who whose last day was 2/6 per UHG Rifs, they are trying to get people to quit so they wont have to pay severance

Information shared is the UHG is trying to figure out how to save $1 billion dollars this year (billion with a B).
If you are asking if there will be RIFs, where do you think some of that billion will come from?

I took a part time job last fall with a national retailer. Best decision I made in years. Now, instead of working 55-60 hours a week at UHC and not being rewarded for it, I put in my 40 hours and use those additional 15-20 hours a week collecting minimum wage. A much more productive use of my time.

Sorry Steve, time is money to me too!

I won’t be laid off but I don’t plan to stick around despite the fake promises they give that’s only more work. I can not work for 3 years at this point if I don’t want to

People need to wake up, this company uses you, expects you to go above and beyond without compensation....if there was a massive walk out executives would then realize our worth... it's sad this company has literally lost the trust and destroyed the hope of its employees. Employees are getting more and more distraught while the pockets of those in management overflows.

@a1 I'm twenty years out from retirement, but I absolutely give back to the company what they give to me. For Every year, I get a raise less than inflation and an underfunded Bonus, I take a few hours per week back. After the last 5 years, I'm down to working only between 10-2, and even then I'm just sitting here playing balatro.

@az Hemsley’s $60 million is only vested after 3 years. So he essentially makes $21 million per year when combined with his salary.

Split that up amongst 350,000 employees, and everyone gets $60

They use the excuse we didn't do well last year but.......

Stephen J. Hemsley is a high-profile corporate executive known for his leadership roles at UnitedHealth Group, where he has held positions as CEO and Board Chairman. As of May 2025, Axios reported that Hemsley received a $1 million salary and $60 million in equity.

Executive Compensation: In 2025, his compensation package included substantial stock-based, equity awards.

Previous Earnings: Earlier in his career as CEO (2006–2017), he was consistently listed as one of the highest-paid executives in the healthcare industry, with a $31.3 million pay package reported in 2017.

Stock Sales: In April 2024, it was reported that Hemsley and other UnitedHealth executives sold $102 million in stock.

I would love for someone to explain this!!!!

My cat pinched something out in the litter box the other night that looked better and smelled better. These execs sicken me.

I'm retiring this year, but before I do I will do close to nothing, just like my raises for the last 20 years.
