As I found out just today, I cannot submit vacation from 1st of May because of One Dell.
What kind of company is this that I cannot submit my vacation which is my right per our country labour code?
Is this applied across while Dell?

@g0 So basically you're a parasite.
@fy relationships and bringing in revenue. I’ll be online for customers but not our internal BS
@fv if you’re able to just put an out of office on and disappear for 2 weeks, I’d be interested to hear what you think your value is?
@b6 nah just that my value isn’t related to clocking in 9-5
@aj Which is illegal, employers cannot deny entitled holidays (vacations to you 'Merkins)
@bc just mark “you’re” self out of office. That RSU stack will manage it’s self, friend.
Lol..I was in that meeting....they told you not to take vacation that week because there will alot going on....and the team needed all hands on deck. Take vacation before or after....just not that week.
@bc Plenty of useless people at this company get RSUs
@aw All our schedule requests have to be submitted into a tool that checks the staffing level on the day(s) the request is for and approves/rejects the request based on anticipated call volume. If our manager wants to override the system they have to go to their boss and convince them to do it. Problem is so many of us have been let go that on most days we are already below the predetermined minimum acceptable staffing level even before anyone gets a day off.
Workday is the only reliable tool we have.
@a1 I think you meant to say, DELL ONE WAY
System will change, that's why.
It’s because we won’t be using workday after May 1st. Doesn’t mean you can’t take your vacation.
@b6 first, it is "you're". Second, my RSU stack would argue otherwise
@ax even if that is true, does it mean that we are no longer allowed to have vacation?
I mean in my country you cannot have vacation without manager approval in workday.
Also there is no word for it anywhere, if that is the case, why they would not inform people
@ay tell me your not business critical, without telling me your not business critical?
You all submit vacation requests? That's hilarious, never done it in 20 years. Just mark as out of office and decline any meetings that are during those dates
Did anybody ever think that maybe its because we're ditching workday and changing the software?
@ae but this is probably the approver - your manager decision,right?
I am getting blocked to even submit the request, till first of May.
Does anybody know why this happens? There is also no information on this on internal pages...
QUIT and you can have all the vacation you want. LOL!!
same in the EU
@ae That's one giant excuse
On mu team we can request time off but no one is actually getting it approved due to "staffing levels" and "needs of the business"
Did you honestly think One Dell worked?
