Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

All the issues we are dealing with just don't matter....

Lets be real here. Customers use bank services. These services seem simple to the customers. And in fact, are a tiny part of what goes on behind the scenes. I say this to remind everyone (if needed) that all the BS, discrimination, unfair dealings, crooked management, outsourcing, d-mb RTO rules, etc. - don't matter. They don't matter if the customer is unaffected. Its all under the rug so to speak. Until things get so bad that bank services are impacted, John Q. Public is oblivious and it all doesn't matter. Except to us. And it is continually ground into our psyche as the bus runs us over again and again. Stay at WF long enough, and one could easily be damaged goods emotionally. It really is that bad.
Thanks chainsaw, you've really done a number on WF. You have made a "difference". Now can you move on, please?

@ay is the gullible employee-customer the bank drools over. Get you to put all your eggs in this basket, pay themselves huge bonuses, then downsize you and charge you fees because it's too inconvenient for you to move all your accounts away. Or, if the whole pyramid goes bo-m, your accounts are used to pay off the bondholders.

Congratulations, you are the weakest link.

@af Be thankful you got laid off. I experienced all that and was fired. I had the grit and determination to weather it all and still fighting.

@ab you're overestimating your impact to the end customer. None of my services have been impacted from the culture change, massive downsize and offshoring.

Includes credit cards, checking, savings, brokerage accounts, etc. The only product I don't have with Wells is my mortgage. Now that they have a good rate on employees savings, I'll probably move more cash over from other HYS accounts.

The outsiders see no impact.

You’re right…for an entire year I was refused training, gaslit, abused all in hopes I’d quit instead of taking severance. I held out for severance but wish I’d quit instead. The damage done seems irreparable to my mental and overall health.

Customers are impacted when you cannot bring your best self to work due to the psychological damage. Eventually it will matter.

There’s more to the bank than the retail customerbase but let’s put that aside.

It’s not quite that hopeless. You give customers too little credit. For the very reason that the services are commodity, that a run on the bank is a mouseclick away, imagine a world where the stagecoach becomes at once a symbol of antiquity and unpatrioticism.
