Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Is it getting harder to plan meetings?

Since the expanded in office 8 hours mandate has it been harder to plan meetings. Most people I know, including me, have hard start and stops now. Good luck trying to set up a call with india, nyc, mn and az. There is a window of like 3 hours. When they treated us like professionals most of us would take calls before going in to the office or after we got home. No more. When the measurement is time and not quality they get time but not quality.

The overlap time was often tripple-booked. But, somehow, we made it all work. Now, they want us to commute at night to make it to the office in time. This just does not work in onshore/offshore, follow-the-sun model. They are trying to get rid of us really hard.

Compliance is irrelevant at WF. You'll be downsized or fired either way.

If you live on the west coast, and you care on some level about being productive (to protect your own hide if nothing else), it's beyond annoying. The 6-8 am window when both india and east coasters were online was frequently my most productive stretch of time each day. I'm not getting up at 4 am to commute for this worthless husk of a company, so I've been forced to trade those productive hours for two useless hours at the end of the day when no one is online and no calls are happening. That's six hours a week of impaired productivity and I'm ONE person. I'd be really curious what the impact is multiplied across the entire workforce. Hope the one time effect on attrition was worth it.

Nope, no issue. It's only difficult if you make it difficult.

Exactly! You nailed it! They want 8 hrs that’s what they get not a minute more

I tell people flat out that I won’t do early meetings on the days I go into the office.

You schedule something at 6:30 my time you can go pound sand. For my immediate partners I might make an exception though. .
