Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Has anyone heard anything about more cuts?

I've been hearing whispers for weeks now, but nothing official. If anyone has any real information about whether another round is coming, please share what you know. The silence is making me nervous.

Hundreds of roles were left unfilled in the last reorg. Those positions are eliminated unless job owners have tangible plans to fill. So think about what this means: the %s of cuts reported to the media and internally are bogus. Numbers are way higher, particularly in the US. So much for being direct, transparent, accountable and all the other cr-p that MW and his ELT have been claiming. Truly disgusting behaviors.

Notice that they are not back-filling a bunch of jobs?
That's not an accident.

@ax Bingo! All it takes is turning off the badge readers at the entrance without warning and the entire building is packed up and gone the next week. CVX management always stabs from the back. If you survive enough of these events, you'll learn to never turn your back towards them and avoid being in passenger group headed towards the Titanic. They have already said that all US support roles are going to India, so don't be in a stateside support role and be surprised when the guillotine falls. Consider the potential impacts to your family when determining if you want to move forward with this despicable company.

Yup cuts are occuring but not in one big event. The cuts will happen as engine takes over and natural attrition. There are already plans to remove entire departments and replace them with engine. If it can be done remotely or only in the office it will eventually be eliminated and replaced with Engine

These are not merit based cuts. It won't be picking who they like or don't like anymore. It will now be entire departments as Engine is able to take over work. If you've had any interaction with Engine or you've been asked to start uploading mass amounts of documents and procedures to be analyzed by AI, then your team is gone by next year. If you have no clue what I'm talking about , you're probably good for a year.
