@ae I raised issues and got retaliated by the manager. I raised the concern to skip level manager who does not care.

Doesn’t AI just mean all Indian? We took how long to get windows 11, we can’t even do cloud vpn, yet they want us to think AI is going to run this company? Yea, all Indian. It will crash just like every other initiative.

Here we are, almost end of Feb. No goals, no plan.

@ag If they were serious about AI, they'd be funding Claude or Codex. MS AI is trash. Even MS employees are begging for the good tools over Copilot.
So we're "losing" and she wants us to work harder. Yet they keep getting rid of the good employees, make our jobs harder, and don't give us good work environments to actually do our best work. They're all delusional. They want a cut throat work culture where everyone is in survival mode. I've been in that before. It doesn't end well. The only ones left will be people who back stab and they'll eventually do it to her too.
I was hoping she would have choked and the other manly tw-t started CPR. Now that would be a relevant town hall.
They need us to work harder because the company isn’t doing well compared to peers. With no raise and slashed bonus, of course. Tell me why Chuck got the board approved raise again?

Truly, honestly, this townhall feels like it wasn’t worth my time. I kept waiting for them to actually address anything of substance that me as a developer cares about, but instead I got AI AI AI, this is what we are doing for the business, and productivity. Also they fully designed it to not have time to answer any questions. They never leave enough time for questions.
From an aspirational standpoint, some of this stuff sounds good-- like the infrastructure bits. But I won't hold my breath. There are a variety of things I've seen that should be quick to do that have taken months. It's flat out stupid we can't provision things like VMs or cloud resources ourselves.
Why there is absolute no talk about snatching everything technology from Saint Louis to offshore or other locations? Not even WIM tech is left here.

@ag ain’t that the truth. If they could replace all humans with AI they would in a heartbeat. All the tools that they keep introducing is geared towards pulling developers out of the process as much as possible. It’s a slippery slope and I don’t trust WF to not fall down it.

This townhall is all about results, about going faster, about being more productive, about asking us to raise issues ourselves and asking us to trust them but not about actual issues that we are facing. I have not heard a single word about what they are doing to improve the life for developers. This is all about what we are doing for the business and not what the business or the technology organization is doing for us.
This guy has the charisma of a wet noodle.

Telling us to raise issues while simultaneously laying off and firing for any reason doesn't work. It’s sad when “trust” is nothing more than the 2026 buzzword.
It’s all about producing more with less as disguised as productivity from developers with AI and not what developers actually want out of AI or if we actually want to use it.
