Emerson is laying g off around 1500 IT people from around and outsourcing to Infosys. They are expecting between 80-100 staff to move to infosys but haven't given them employment offers yet. Only one tech will remain in Canada. Its going to be a mess.
@OP Put a 100% tariff on outsourcing and that will stop it
These folks have no shame. No shame at all when it comes to outsourcing. LKB is much worse than Farr.
@1ab gotcha ... so it would be Pune I assume, for India. Fun, can only imagine the quality.
Design engineering, software development. All has been outsourced to India and Philippines.
Pretty much there are as much engineers left in Michigan, New Jersey or Virginia. Most of the folks left are mostly MBA..
This administration is disasterous...jobs and prosperity in the toilet all because incompetent people voted for this.
@f6 LOL
@wn Outsourced to who? Engineering is too broad of a term. So
Our (Boulder) in house IT su-ked anyway, only 1 of them would help.
I’m surprised the other one didn’t have multiple $ex harassment complaints.
It is not just IT, they also outsourced engineering from Rosemount, ASCO and Fisher
@ep It was in-house. There was IT in the US, some roles in Manila, Costa Rica, etc., but all within Emerson.
InfoSys. That’s what you get when you have the three little ind&*ns running the company. More and more U.S. jobs will be off-shored and/or outsourced.
Was IT support in-house before this? If so, how many were affected - or was it already outsourced to a U.S. firm?
@OP TBF no plan is fast at Emerson, I bet this has been in the works for years
@aw I think InfoSys
which company?
