@kv it will let many leaders, directors. VPs, SVPs to go in remain of this year, it is obviously no need management just responsible for hardware. It is now turn to product central.

For those wondering, CHG stands for common hardware group. This division does just what it says - it supports hardware which spans Cisco product lines (think optics, compute hardware, etc.).

...Chambers. He lost out to aws...

Cisco IT couldn't even deploy Cisco gear correctly at the tiny scale of a single office building. Cisco was never going to compete against AWS no matter how much money they threw at it. Even players with both data center and applications experience like IBM and Oracle have low single digit percentages of the cloud market.

@br oh forgot to mention Chambers saying VMware would be a bad buy in one of his birthday talks. One of the back doors of the buildings should be called Chambers - you know the sneaky way to leave.

This company has never had vision. Sad

@br the garbage bin direction was chosen by Chambers. He lost out to aws, couldn’t convince the market cisco sells software.

Cisco should have been an American conglomerate along the likes of Amazon or Msft or Google. Yet here we are selling only one golden product - network. Oracle Google and Msft brought up new clouds after AWS - 18 years since then. Just wow

Remind me again which incarnation of the garbage bin we’re going through now?

Chg is probably the hardware group previously led by Martin Lund. He’s going to to an early stage AI startup

No idea at this point why CR doesn’t just retire and pass the CEO seat to G2. It’s obvious he’s the heir apparent; rip off the bandage and get it over with.

@b0

CHG will not have layoff

when someone says no layoff.. i mean nothing.. JC said he will never layoff.. but dot-com hit... CHG is just giving political answer.. nothing more. You guys needs to open your eyes!! thats all.

Last month Martin said CHG will not have layoff, he is absolutely right, CHG end today and product orgs will be totally different, old dogs doing switch, routers, servers, the turn is coming .

My thoughts:

  • Who the h*ll is Martin Lund & when did he come an EVP?
  • Just what G2 needs: more responsibility (he recently told Forbes he works 18 hours/day)
