How’s it looking on your team lately? On mine, people keep quietly disappearing and backfills aren’t happening, so the rest of us just absorb the work and move on like it’s normal.

Most of my day is spent trying to hold other leaders accountable and forcing them to make prioritization decisions instead of continuing to let them throw out random ideas and then coming back to ask nobody in particular why things aren’t getting done like they asked.
lots of people on the team and we are mandatory 5 days in office. zero energy, most of team spends every moment hotspotted to their phone searching for new jobs. doom spiral
45 person team is normal development team size when you work on serveral projets in paralel. Mechanical design engineers, electrical design engineers, SW engineers, NPI engineers, project managers and couple assistants/students.

in the US jobs are hard to find. attrition is low outside of retirements.
most projections show orgs 20% smaller byvend of 2026. india take the biggest cuts especially in software.

45 people? There are multi billion dollar hedge funds with fewer people. Do you realize how inefficient a 45 person team must be unless they do high volume and repetitive work?
4 years ago rejoined into team with 9 regulars and 6-7 contractors, now we are two and zero contractors. No replacement.
And team I work with had over 45 and now barely 15. Again no replacements.

One VP in my area of Aero has turned over more than half her direct reports in under a year. People are starting to jump ship.
I had a team of 12 PM's and now its 4. The work has only increased and I am getting hammered
