Months ago we heard Walmart planned 3000+ H1B hires. Then, the Trump administration attached a $100,000 fee for bringing in a foreign H1B employee to replace a US based associate. After that, Walmart walked back their H1B plans.
Now, a federal judge has ruled the fee is illegal. Does that mean we’ll see Walmart dump a ton more US based associates and bring in foreign H1B workers to take those jobs? If I had to guess, I’d say, yes- they probably will.
@kz And to make it all legit they will make you sign saying you won't sue them and also upon completion up until the time you are laid off you will receive your severance pay, in other words you will train your replacements and do you job as normal or you can walk away with no severance pay, it's just another form of financial blackmail and don't forget, you are part of the Walmart "Family" loooooooooool !!!
@ks That is exactly correct. Your managers and directors will tell you to train those new H1Bs to do your job, and then they will take your job. I personally saw it happen in Bentonville, right in DGTC. Anyone that says it didn’t happen, or, can’t happen…… well, they just are wrong.
@e6 What they mean is you will be training them to do your job, you just don't know it yet. Eventually they will tell you and even ask for volunteers of those they are laying off to teach them. Many here can vouch for that I bet. They said we can hire people to do your job for a fraction what they are paying you. Sorry to break it to you but this is how begins.
Microsoft just pulled the same thing, when are you people going to learn, there's nothing about these American companies being American, you could very well say they are anti American and be accurate.

Ban all H1Bs NOW! If a company wants to do business in the USA, they should hire Americans. End of rant...
@OP This means more Indian nationals in Bentonville, on top of the bazillion we already have here. They’re just going to bring over their brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, children, friends, neighbors……. How many US workers will be cut to make way for foreign workers?

Look at the abuse that started the Unions, let me know if you see any similarities with Walmart and how they treat their employees prior to that happening.
