Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Is there any hope the layoffs will be wrapped up today?

People are apparently still being notified. This is nerve-racking. Good luck to us all.

The layoffs will continue until morale improves.

Layoffs were going on all day, we had a team meeting at 3pm to go over upcoming work. At 5pm, our AVP calls us into a meeting letting us know that our manager and 2 analyst were notified a short time ago that there role was eliminated and it was a “cost cutting move” and not performance related. So in other words, later this year those same positions will be posted at lower salaries.

There are two things certain in this world, death and layoffs.

Rumor is this will be a monthly event. Nothing you can do except your job. When it’s your time, it’s your time.

@aq yup. CFO is expecting one in Feb. I’ve been applying to leave in case I am one of the laid off people next month.

A majority of the layoffs will be communicated today. Some exceptions apply for obvious reasons. There’s another round of layoffs coming at the end of February.

We just had a quick sync with our AVP, so layoffs were going on up until 430pm.
