Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

UK is Doomed

Captain Mainwaring ordered his beleaguered troops to work harder to get yet another 0% pay rise. Nice work DA, that was a masterclass in how to p1ss off your staff even more. Maybe this clown should look in the mirror and realise he is the problem? All he’s overseen is contract run-offs and now they are drying up, nothing is coming in. Funny that but it’s all the poor employees fault for not working hard enough. No Captain, it’s your set up, your cronies and your skills at trying to run the company as a military set up that’s failing. It’s not hard, look after your staff and the rest will look after itself. We’re not 16 year old squaddies standing in line taking your orders. Dismissed…

@tg Enthusiastic until they realise that small increase is all they are getting

@tb It's a 0% pay rise. They sometimes match the salary of the fresh grad intake, but it's not much more than that. TBF they are as capable as anyone else. At least they are enthusiastic enough to try.

DA believes in replacing everyone in the UK with cheap graduates, who get minimal training and salaries close to minimum wage. you'll have graduates fresh out of uni put in ADL roles who before joining DXC have never worked a day in their life. the very few graduates who are actually good don't stay long once they realise DXC offers a 10% max payrise when they get "promoted"

We've all probably told our managers endless times what we think the solution is. Pay, systems, access to the resources we need to do the job. None of it gets us anywhere but a grumbler status. We all gave up long back and went silent. The message doesn't progress up 8 layers of management. So those above us all think they are doing a great job and have a content workforce. It's all going to end, I'm petty sure of that. I just can't predict when.

Realistically, what does anyone in a country or regional lead position actually do?

Their main purpose is to present slide decks to the next level of management and get fired on a whim.

When you put it like that you probably wonder why such "leadership" roles command such big bucks.

@k9
And no doubt, a very well funded pension put to go with it.
Absolutely beyond belief that he could be on that level of pay.
I’ve got a couple of friends who’ve worked on a few bids we’ve won and all DA does is come in when the contract is signed and announce how well ‘we’ve’ done to win some work, no other input at all.

Anyone know how much Allison and his exec buddies are on in the UK? Would be great to know how much they’re getting for absolute failure.

@b6 does anyone but DXC management comment on DXC LinkedIn posts?

New year but same old, same old. Watch the format. Jokey jokey introduction then gets his ego stroked by his minions. Agenda is some waffle on AI generated by AI, then one of his lieutenants spouts some corporate garbage (this time appraisals where bell curve is finally mentioned). Then some DEI feel good nonsense. Then he comes in with the ki-ler punch - 36million black hole needs filling by April so all work harder blah blah - then he’ll get his bonuses. Sleep repeat.

@ar Watch the replay, just the first few minutes and you'll understand and then if your susceptible you'll watch a bit longer or if not stop

They want us to work for free. That's because the clients don't want us to work at all. So basically we're not working. The clients figured they could do it cheaper in-house. After all the have to shadow manage everything anyway. We're told to only do what we're asked. The clients don't get IT so ask for daft things. We're told to just bill them anyway. Nobody asks what we're actually doing. It's great pay for the little that does get done.

Now let's keep saying Howard and Mike before him were the problem... The problem has always been the levels below. Absolute rubbish. Now they will put up creepy pictures of themselves on LinkedIn and like each other's posts. If the UK army is as incompetent as these chaps... Better hope that nato is not relying on these melts

@aq

Please expound in detail, whatever this alleged "gallic charm" entailed, in particular.

"...they were wise enough to use gallic charm to soften the blow but it didn't work."

Well our brilliant leaders came up with a new way to pi-s off their already angry and demotivated workforce. I will give them credit in that they were wise enough to use gallic charm to soften the blow but it didn't work. They are accelerating the end of year reviews so they can use the ratings for the delayed "salary review". So yes the last years end of year review was meaningless but this one will be different. Plus of course we won't find our rating till May - June so even if there is any reward it will be delayed to Q1 FY27. Fu----s!

I almost handed my notice in on the spot but went to the pub instead

Oh oh oh were in the army now.

Dereks is a veterans team. If your a civvy your frucked.

Ex army can't think out of the box, they go by rules, and orders. They don't live in the real world or think of human problems or emotions.

They dont care if you have worked hard through covid, and delivered, they don't know what inflation or cost of living is.

They are just a bunch of Derek saddos, who think they are rank above civies.
