Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

What ELT thinks of us

I am in IT, but I heard that the ELT is so upset with HR that the CHRO has to layoff 2 LT members by the end of they year. If they do that, expect other layoffs to be cover for it. Hunger games at its finest.

Not sure which group is worse to be a part of. IT or HR?

It’s about time somebody cleaned up RM’s mess from years of grooming horrible leaders and modeling behaviors that made her the most despised person in the function. What a disgrace.

When does LL get the boot for her global travels and nasty behavior with everyone except MKW

Where does LD factor into the equation?

The HR LT doesn't care about their employees. They are trying to survive because they know the average 22-23 can out perform them. Look at RP, GV and JS. They should be embarrassed.

BCG used to send some smart people. I might not always agree with the idea of working with BCG but they at least had some sharp analysts.

Nowadays when you just have a conversation with a BCG analyst or principal or whatever they call themselves, you wonder how they graduated college and got the gig at BCG at all.

And for our ELT to listen to these people… I am so d-mbfounded and just have no words

The middle LT spend too much time managing up and they do not collect feedback from obvious data points identified by the individual contributors. There is very little real information that filters up to the LT that can be used to improve the workflows and loser cost.

So what the poster is saying is that GV and JJ are out by the end of the year? There are a lot more problems in HR than just them.

@cw nobody ever got fired for hiring McKinsey or BCG, or following their recommendations. That’s the point. This isn’t about outcomes or good strategy. It Is about outsourcing risk and liability.

@ap the irony of course is that if it is the rank and file that are responsible for Chevron’s doldrums, doesn’t that just implicate the ELT as bad leaders whose job it is to manage such things?

If the ELT aren’t managing their teams effectively, that WTAF are they doing?

It doesn’t matter what they think of us. But it certainly is hilarious to watch from afar for just comical things like SCM even entertaining McKinsey doing work for them. It’s like nobody remembers D2D and the $100MM we spent to get zero value.

I would love to know 1) who made the decision to use McKinsey and now BCG consultants for reorg, new org model & headcount changes and 2) when will ANY of our fu--ing useless ELT members take accountability for their fu-k ups?

You cannot continue to claim that it is your employees who are the root cause of Chevron’s issues. Get some freaking backbone and own YOUR mistakes, ya freakin useless 🤡s!

It’s about time someone other than the rank and file to an axe.
