@ap And guess what? The same stagnant design engineering will become the same problem in APAC & AMEA very soon.
@bpz well done on finding a link with zero context. Way to go bruh.

@OP it depends if hitachi ltd wants to clean house or sell off the subsidiary and if hitachi feels hv can actually break back into the amer market again. I dont think they can, so they may cut AMER operations entirely and size down massively while they go back to the drawing board for the next several years. Hitachi could always sell to indian company if they want to pull out completely, but it would hurt their global brand so it seems unlikely.
The current products are not competitive whatsoever in a time where hv revenue should be exploding as the ballooning amount of investment into data centers is carrying the entire us market. Nobody is buying hv in the hottest data center market of all time. The signal is clear
@ap HV uses AWS blindly and arbitrarily internally as well. Lots of cost cutting while wasting millions in AWS and offshoring its support to its existing India headcount. That should tell you everything you need to know.
"collective delusion" LOL, so true
< 9 months. there is no plan. the “hybrid cloud storage” pitch is silly.
“Oh, cloud disk”. dude, that’s just one of the three main cloud providers + storage has been PAYGO since ’06.
it’s a collective delusion to suggest there is a product to sell. HV adds nothing of value to cloud storage options already available in AWS or GCP (+ probably others).
a hard drive company trying to differentiate itself in a market where storage has been a commodity for 15 yrs is not going to fly. this is the outcome.
