I think unvested RSUs played into this, not just salary.
Not just salary is calculated, that is based cost.
Add in overhead. Benefits, 401k match, unemployment insurance, SSI, equipment like PCs, building rents and utilities etc.
Gen and administrator costs like other support staff time, public costs they incurred for employees.
