Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Monday & Tuesday - for Canada and the US

  • Meeting invites are going out Monday (Canada) and Tuesday (U.S.).
  • Not sure if this is limited to my GBU or affects everyone at Oracle.
  • VPs would have known on Friday...assuming managers get told Monday am or VPs do the work, and then everything is executed

I’d like to keep anonymous, so I’m not going to mention my GBU.

@dc I don’t know. That is what I heard directly from engineering managers and PM managers I know in my GBU - maybe because of Good Friday (which is a stat in most Canadian provinces)

OP, What is the origin of the thinking that Canada happens Monday, a day prior to US?

@ar it is a paycheck and benefits. These are getting harder to find.

Why would anyone still work for a company and industry that will move to the far East in a few months to no more than 1-3 years and whine about it here? #timesup

@an for Canada it depends on seniority and length of service. I know a senior IC who was let go with 18 years of service in toronto and got 53 weeks...that was a 2023 or 2024 layoff though

What is the official last working day? Is it the day of RIF or day of RIF + farden leave?
