I was also let go early December. Also in Pittsburgh. I spoke with someone in HR last week and was told that because of the chaos from all of this happening and so many questions that even HR had, the “mid January” email we were to get is being pushed to January 30th. We are still employed with BNY systematically and will continue to get paid as normal through the end of January. Once you receive that email, you will have 45 days to sign it. You will still remain an employee systematically with BNY until March 15th even if you don’t sign it until then. On day 46, if you DONT sign it, you will then no longer be an employee. And payment will stop. If you DONT sign the email, you will continue to receive pay until March 31st. On April 1st, you will be eligible to apply for unemployment and it won’t be fought. I asked what do I do if I receive an employment offer from somewhere else in the meantime? They said we do not need to do anything. BNY does not track that information and the continued pay is pretty much just seen as a thank you for your service with the bank. So you can accept employment elsewhere. Do not need to notify BNY of it. If an employer asks why you’re leaving the bank, you tell them the position was terminated and it was a mutual release. That part is BS, but I guess this all could be much worse. So in short, we are going to get paid with full insurance through the end of March. Can apply for unemployment 4/1 with your last day of employment with BNY being 3/31. I did not ask about 401k matching. We CAN pull our RSU from Fidelity on 2/26 if you opted into that. This was all said via phone call though so take it with a grain of salt I guess
