Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

No guess or speculation. What’s really happening today and next week.

I’ve got ideas but very little factual information. There are people that know what’s happening. So close now just spill it

@h1 In some other global regions HR was already decimated, but they are generally the last to see big cuts. When you see big cuts in your HR function you're probably safe for a while.

I don’t know what is going to happen this time but I pray that worthless HR will see big cuts. They support nobody but themselves.

Pepsico is as broken as its failed Speak-up process

  1. The outcome is already decided: Your manager seems to know you’re guilty for reporting his wrongdoings

  2. Nothing is written down: Meetings happen, but no one keeps notes, so it’s just “he said, she said.”

  3. Retaliation: Asking questions or speaking up seems to make things worse.

  4. No support person provided even though you’ve asked for one.

  5. The process takes forever: Weeks or months go by with no updates, leaving you stressed and unsure.

  6. Rules keep changing: Policies are applied differently depending on who’s involved, so it’s impossible to know what’s allowed.

If you're in this situation, here's what to do:

  1. Document everything: Keep notes of conversations, emails and meetings.

  2. Get advice: Talk to a union representative or an employment lawyer before taking any action.

Pepsico has become known to be a toxic unlawful environment with total contempt for employees rights, fairness and ethic practices.

@bh that is a pretty broad statement. I am Frito and I know many Frito people. None have said anything like that. Where is this at? What department?

@bh Don’t be a di-k. That’s a really sh---y move when there’s so many rumors and falsehoods already.

In years’ past they send an email early Monday morning. I remember getting into the office last year and it was a ghost town to walk in and see an email that was sent 6 AM that day to WFH.

@bx what if you like me and don't check emails after hours? I wonder what they'd do if they sent a stay home email and people showed up.

@bp The stay-at-home email will go out EOD today or Sunday. They don't want to deal with questions.

If you didn’t get the stay home email it’s likely they want you in the office next week to turn in your lap top and take your paperwork

Fact

The demand signal we had in ’23 is different from the demand signal we have in ’25,” said Lauguarta in an earnings call. “There’s some adjustment we’re making to both the assets and the headcount in the business to make sure that we have the right cost structure to navigate the coming quarter.”

Here’s a fact. The people that feel like their job may be in jeopardy aren’t getting much work done. This week and next week will be the most unproductive weeks of my career.
