Article published that Infosys won a GCC (outsource work to India) worth $500 Million. Well done Steve, but about 25 years too late and now wasting the company’s money. Scarier thing is Bill and the board even think this is a good idea. Our jobs are even more at risk across tech ops and data. I’m sure the OC (aka purple ponies) will visit on the corporate jets.

@am luckily Hagerman was not in charge of the building his house team, he would have offshored the construction offshore. Please tell us that we don’t have to hear about another housing update. We really don’t care.
@1wx It's OK. AI will help him become a great leader
Just a bad leader… smart guy just not a smart leader
I’m honestly relieved I’m not part of Hagerman’s org. We work closely with several of their teams day to day, and the experience hasn’t exactly inspired confidence. There seem to be noticeable skill gaps across a lot of the group, and the overall output often falls short of what you’d expect.
What stands out most is the level of micromanagement. Everything from keystrokes to activity is monitored, yet it doesn’t seem to result in better performance. If anything, it feels counterproductive. On top of that, program leadership isn’t adding much value. Meetings tend to feel mechanical and unproductive, with little clarity or direction coming out of them. A lot of program leadership are worn out and washed up boomers that simply need to retire.
Outsourcing can be effective for certain roles, software development and QA, for example. But the results aren’t always equal. From what I’ve seen at Truist, offshore teams often don’t match the consistency or depth of expertise that onshore teams bring. There also tends to be a gap when it comes to instinctively understanding what makes for a strong client experience, especially in software design and delivery.
At the end of the day, the old saying “you get what you pay for” still applies. If Truist leans too heavily into offshoring at the expense of its onshore talent, the quality of our platforms will decline, and that will inevitably impact both our clients and the company itself.
Insourcing still means keeping it offshore. Is what it is. Just not as much complaining as there used to be.
Makes sense to me with the political climate and how the US is viewed overseas to turn over our data and ops. It’s only a matter of time before that knowledge is used against us.
What did you expect? Uneducated ldiots are running the company now.
can shareholders not outsource the CEO role?
but guys, his multi-million dollar lake front home is finally done! it took him longer than expected and was stressful - cut him some slack!
Truist was already significantly more outsourced than peers in the segment 🤷
