Anyone hear anything of layoffs in IL and TX? Just had some teammates say they’ve seen folks being escorted out buildings.

@10m reminds me of an Einstien quote...Great spirits will alway encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds. HCSC has lost its perspective on merit based leadership, promotion of leaders, and actual fairness which comes across authentically, eg, we all feel and see the same things...think of what is said during leadership meetings...it is not an inspiring message and the messager doesnt come across with authenticity.
@d5 Look, HCSC’s specialty is moving people into sr leadership roles in departments where they have absolutely no experience. They’re too ignorant to know what they don’t know so they make ridiculous changes, up end everything and end up costing us an operational, efficiency, hiring new unnecessary people to fill roles that were never needed in the past and not needed now, all to remake a division in their own vision, to satisfy their own egos. And there’s always no shortage of butt kissers around who will support them and be their yes people and make them feel like they know what they’re doing. It’s beyond pathetic, but it’s practically institutionalized here.
ED is like $200-300k (base) and the same 25% API as Directors.
VP $250-350k, but they also get insane API (like 50%) and a long-term incentive plan which add another 50-100k or so. I bet there isn’t a VP who takes home less than $500k cash this year.
@jn also, I think I read that he is the highest paid CEO of a health care org...wow...more than what UHC, Aetna, Cigna - national companies that's revenue makes HCSC look small and also Anthem...all doing better than HCSC also...Wallstreet has them as buys. So, why??? Got to be some sort of kickback thing or cronyism or something else?
@ht I thought it went from ED next step VP...they got rid of DVP and AVP...
@kk okay so somewhere between 175 and a million. That's a very big range. So, I asked ChatGPT...said VP average is 285k.
@jy way too low.
@jy okay so not millions as another commenter said in this thread.
@jp probably $150ish for ED and $175k for VP
@ht what is the range for ED and VP with bonus?
@fa add $10 million to that. And remember- it’s CASH. Unlike public companies that get stock options- his is cash. And that doesn’t include all his $300k- $600k gigs per board seat.
@fa The leap from ED to VP is pretty huge.
@bs what do EDs and VPs make with bonus? Millions per year - what a gig!? Just checking in on reality...saw Maurice is making 34 mil or more.
I heard former Cigna people in Marketing.
@a8 What difference does it make that you replied?
@a7 Can't wait to see how hard the Medicare market truly gets hit after these rate increases...smh
@bs wow. I was way way underpaid. Ugh.
@av we have a strategy department- yet no strategy.
So - now that old Maurice got all his accolades by the board yesterday- what’s next? More payoffs? Bonuses that are piddly? Do more with even less ?
Clearly change is needed at the top to stop the sinking but I doubt that will happen.
Sad how the cabal of the clueless has tanked a great company.
@az VPs are making quite a bit more than that, and that’s just salary. They also get much, much bigger bonuses than us regular folk. I think you’d be pretty disappointed with most of their “qualifications” too. They’re mostly just ruthless sociopaths who failed upwards.
@am a sr manager at VP level??? An analyst at director level?
I think you are highly confused.
@an get a grip on reality. Just look out there in job searches for ED to VP levels...165k to 275k. Not millions and you have to incur the cost of advanced degrees and or decades of knowledge and accept accountability for everyone under you...although, I do accept we are working in an bizarre world where folks get roles based not upon merit or ability to sell...
@am do ya know which VPs in strategy? There are so many
Oh they didnt let actuary or capa go?
Guess we need them for the reliable forecasts
Always terrible when you see us non leaders get laid off.
Hurts a little less when you’re getting paid in the millions and get laid off.
Corporate strategy lost an analyst that was at the Director level. And two senior managers that were at vp levels.
Heard the same about Medicare Marketing. Anyone know about the other lines of business?
@a9 yea- teams are spread across multiple buildings. It’s irrelevant content.
Medicare marketing was hit, Cold, scripted, we’ll send you an email, give me your badge buh bye. More departments will be affected is what I have heard.
@a8 it might help to understand which teams are being impacted. Corporate office? Downers Grove? Texas?
@a7 what difference does it make on what building?
I heard it's just Medicare marketing, any truth to that? Which buildings?
They were hit “intentionally” or “kinetically”?
Wonder if they use AI to write in Pete Hegseths voice when they write our marketing themes and speeches lol.
Yeppers. Marketing under Jessie Quick was hit.
