Thread regarding State Street Corp. layoffs

US New 100k$ charge for hiring h1b

Excited to see how state pans out with this one :) they’ve taken advantage of this system for so long and I am so very excited they will need to start paying to back up these poor decisions.

That’s for new applicants. I am guessing they will hold on to those slaves for a bit. That 100k should be for ask h1b.

@q7
As a former IT worker discarded by my company after 20 years.
The IT field pays a very good starting wage for new hires and it increases greatly as time goes on.

Then companies starting abusing the H1B system by claiming they could not find any qualified U.S workers. So they hired very cheap H1B workers.

Funny how ever day in the job market news, you read about High tech companies laying of thousands of workers. HMMMMMMMM
Thousands of U.S workers who they will replace with cheap H1B workers.

@k7 maybe if they have to start paying US citizens a living wage instead of non-citizens for cheaper (either here or those abroad in LCLs) he’ll have to reduce his millions and millions of dollars in bonus money he gets every year and or sell his yacht? Or maybe reduce the staff on his yacht team? What a greedy ja----s.

@e1
Its bad enough when your job is outsourced to India.
Its even worse when they bring the H1B worker into the U.S

My former company has a few thousands of them in their various offices in the U.S

@am

Before you post try doing some research.
They have been bringing in thousands of H1B workers over the last 30 years.

@e1 meant jobs not hubs.

The HIRE proposal currently being worked up will impact offshoring hubs to India, Poland and China. But I do think this will impact bringing in non-citizen talent to the US to take high paying jobs here. It will all impact State Street and the US in the long run, but it will take time. Send email to your US senator to support it. I did. https://www.moreno.senate.gov/press-releases/new-moreno-bill-would-crack-down-on-outsourcing-fund-american-workers/

@OP how would this impact SS? Theyre offshoring to India not bringing Indians over to the US.
