@1a1 It does say you’ll be able to add to it, up to 35, in the summer window

Flex is open - it is max buy 5, or sell it all down to 22. If they run the 2 week annual shutdown again next year - that means you have to take 8 days at the companies choosing before you even start! So could be left with only 14. Bring back 40 days, or even unlimited!!!

@qn best example of deluded management or boot li---r... Maybe a hybrid solution!

@xp This is exactly the attitude we get from management — “shut up and do your job.” No pay rises, ever. We’re told we have no skills and would never get another job. So people just stop trying. They think, “Fine, you’re right — I’ll just leave it.” Others work around the problem or go without, and we all still get paid the same anyway. The client ends up bringing in another supplier to fill the gaps. Things could be very different if there were any real encouragement and reward around here.

@xp+1k9a64t0q we were good enough but DXC wanted us back in house to make it cheap by not giving our yearly bonuses and rises.

You are one big gullible sad su---r who still doesnt realise that DXC will take your pay every year.

Were not going to do your storage switches, keep working hard and getting stressed, your on the next redundancy round for trying to deliver ha ha.

@x0 If at&t thought you were good, they would have kept you

Shut up and do your job so my storage projects move forward

@vt+1k9a64t0q luckily I'm on good AT&T pay, alot better than some of our DXC collegues, but they are trying to erode things for us.

As my colleague says there is no point working hard, they arent going to give us a big rise which were given at T.

If your keen go for it, work all the hours till your flogged, your going to get nothing. Our team are shopping and on the golf course.

How we miss our AT&T days, rises and bonuses every year in March without fail, none of this begging bowl and still getting nothing.

DXC deserves what it pays.

@qn That’s exactly the point! We’ve all watched colleagues do next to nothing for years, and yet they’re still here. There’s never any consequence. Management just keeps hiring more people to make their teams look bigger. If you’re good at your job, all that happens is you get given more work — no reward, and rarely even a thank you. This is why you're swamped, and everyone is sitting back waiting for it all to fail.

Were networks and were proud to doing nothing as were only getting small raises.

You can bust a gut and you will eventually be fired for going above and beyond.

We will be laughing at you.

@d5 if you don’t do much you should be fired for cause and not given any severance. I am swamped with work because others are not performing the basic job functions

Do your job to the best of your abilities or quit , you only have 2 choices

It's down to 30 days for Jan selection. You can up the max to 35 and the mid year point. So still 35 days if you want them.

TBF some people would still work here if they dropped the holiday to 0 days, and the pay in a similar direction. By work - I obviously mean just fill in forms (aka spreadsheets), and wait for them to be approved. DXC ki-led my skillset, I'm just waiting for them to realise I don't do much and then give me the redundundancy I've been waiting for.

@OP - I’m confused

30 days extra on top of the 25? Or max you can buy now is 5 days?

Not enough staff quitting. Force them to take 7 days at Xmas. And limit max vacation to 30 days. That should do the trick.

The company seems to assume everyone wants two weeks off in the winter — mainly because the senior execs who make the rules all take that time to go skiing in Switzerland. The rest of the rules, of course, don’t seem to apply to them. Personally, I’d rather take time off outside the school holidays when prices are lower. But honestly, it doesn’t matter much — no one really notices when I’m not around, and I haven’t delivered anything in weeks. Everyone’s so wrapped up in following processes that add no value - when my requests are finally approved, I might actually be able to get something done around here?

You're panicking unduly. DXC select doesn't open till next Wednesday, the brochure is just marketing fluff and has had mistakes in before. Surely your don't think.the head of UKI HR would spent an hour talking about changes to our Ts&C's and not mention they were removing 5 days from our potential leave allowance?

@ak In the UK, up until last year everyone got 25 days leave plus 8 public holidays. With the option to buy/sell leave between 20 and 35 (plus the 8). It looks like this is being changed to between 22 and 30 (plus the 8).
If we have to keep half our holiday time back for use at Christmas, this has a disproportionate impact of people with family abroad, especially long distance (think India or Australia) or people who want time off to celebrate non-Christian religious holidays as it leaves them less time to use as standard holidays.
