Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Wave 1 & 2 Layoffs has past, and now the annual supervisor pilgrimage to Bengaluru has commenced.

As the Wave 1 and Wave 2 Layoffs is now past, rest assured Chevron USA and ABU transition team supervisors have commenced the next 2026 (Waves 3 & 4) pilgrimage to Bengaluru.

Where they encounter beautiful Akshay Sahni (President Punkah Wallah) at ‘The Bengaluru Taj Mahal’ AKA ENGINE’s RMZ Ecoworld Rd HQ.

New 2026 Focus Areas
• CTC / FE Transition Role handover
• New Phase 3 & 4 Workflows with a focus on TAR execution & delayed M&R
• Global MCP execution (with support from Wood/Worley back offices approx. 6000 ENGINEeers & no CVX site experience)
• Remove field inspections
• Remote Refinery & LNG CCR Operator training & transition (the Unions will love that!)

This is the new norm for those with a job.

All aboard MWs sinking ship!

@OP Tell me more about "Remote Refinery & LNG CCR Operator training & transition"? I can picture some of this as part of the aftermath of the Richmond strike. Plus the USW contract expires next year, so the company might pick this fight sooner versus later.

You’re about 1-2 weeks early. Settle down.

I am ready mentally for either wave 3 or 4. When putting my name on jobs for wave 2, I was thinking would this role be in the US after 2027. So come Monday I will have a better idea of how this chapter ends.
Never have been a super organized person, so ENGINE handover would be just like when I walked into a role —almost zero instructions and you just try to figure it out for what ever seems important.. (previous companies had everything documented, desk manuals, procedures, clear roles and responsibilities ).
BUT not quite ready to be let go now, though I did hover my mouse over that EOI button for some time, just the math did not quite work out, plus a trip or two to India sounds like fun.

OP
I like the detail of the statements you cite. I agree this is the “beginning of the end” as Winston Churchill was quoted saying.

@ak you're exactly right; those of us in that group won't hear until Monday. I think the OP was suggesting is that the process, more or less, is over for the job owners.

I was in round 1 so forgive me for not fully knowing but I was under the impression that psg 25 and below won't know their fates until next week. I'm on my days off at the moment. So what is all this cr-p about it being over?
