Cascade 3 - Offshoring

Was in a meeting with managers a few rungs up the ladder than me when one of them fielded a question about "Reimagining". They mentioned that there's always been a "Cascade 3" and that it's happening in the next 3 months. They said more jobs will be offshored as a part of it but they don't know how much.

Has anyone else heard anything about this?

As a former director (now gone and happy) I will say, DPM is already doing this with tech. The goal was always to be 40% or better offshore. The most critical teams would be onshore, the easier stuff outsourced.

We started this as budgets expanded so any new teams went offshore. The real question will be, is 40% enough. After countless trips to India, its not worth it. I could have one onshore team with Claude AI outpaced two offshore teams.

Hope you all stay safe!

@c8 in operations (december update) todd said ISPs were coming in 2026. No other details of course were provided. Lots of contactors from india are coming into areas that were previously declared "safe" 18 months ago. The writing is on the wall, they want anything they legally outsource, outsourced. Project lantern and all the table top risk reviews have now tagged any work "easy enough for indians to do" to be shipped out. Regardless of the risks and us sounding the alarms. Leadership at the top is on a fixed timeline to slash and burn this place to the ground. They do not care about anything long term or big picture. All about that profit margin right now.

Yup, Ops and Service will be cut in half. DPM will soon have offshore Product Owners. Amplify said no VSPs in 2026. A lot of ISPs in 2026.

Yes. Operations is shipping out anything that isnt licensed required. That was what project lantern was. Right now contrators are pouring into the rolls and being trained to "help". What will happen though is once they are up and moving, they will turn around train another wave of contractors to replace chunks of the US based people who are still here and haven't quit from the new RTO. The end goal is more cheap labor from india, less US based people, less HBA's, more money for GPs. Don't worry though, we are still human centered and will still spend sick amounts of money to flash our billboards at sporting events.

@aj yes this is true. It’s not really cascade 3 though as OP said. It’s just phase 2 of ER.

That's exactly what Penny's video said when ER was announced spring 2025. 2025 spans and layers. 2026 offshoring and outsourcing. 2027 AI and automation.
