It’s really so simple. Once you start to care less is when the job gets better. Remember you will be replaced one day whether it is retire, die, or laid off. This company does not care about you more than the next person. Take care of yourself first. Words of wisdom from Les Brown “work harder on yourself than you do on your job!”

Ask yourself - who do you really work for? It is for family, your self, and your retirement. CVX is simply one means to those ends, so stay or leave which ever is in your self interest. Once you leave CVX, it is like you never even existed, and that has always been the case.

work hard and make yourself irreplaceable, but if unfortunately, it still happens due to headcount reductions/lay-offs then just move on. Always remember, if you are really good and have the capacity to deliver, you will always be valued wherever you go...
