Non-Core layoffs, who's actually been affected?
I'm a US-based remote employee in an SMBC Non-Core unit. I was certain I'd be laid off, but the axe hasn't fallen on me or several peers.
Is this a real stay of execution, or just a holding pattern before they sell us off?

Found out today that I lost a few colleagues in Asia. Some of them been here a very long time. Now my other colleagues are scared.
Productivity is even worse than before.
@d6 I see PE scooping us if, if we don't implode on our own.
Seems like we're doing a great job on the sh**ting ourselves in the foot at least. I'm not even in Sales and I know someone caught in a decent sized deal because they axed a Product Manager that helped them with a shortcut yesterday or Monday night. Sales and the folks helping the customer seemed to prioritize that over double checking support, or a fall back in case they either couldn't or didn't want to do more keys from engineering as a shortcut.
Now half of them are screaming that the deal's in jeopardy, half are wondering how it got that far, and my contact's just watching allat. This apparently is not an abnormal occurrence - aside from axing a product manager at the worst possible time.
@ah OT is doing layoffs right now. There's no need to wait for PE.
We will let the acquirer do the layoffs and if it’s private equity there will be no public reporting.
I’ve heard we have some perspective buyers and if they see our internal Frankenstein processes, they’ll want to keep folks that can operate in this mess until they invest in the infrastructure, something we were never willIng to do.
If the stock goes under $20 get ready for a fire sale to cover up a cr-ppy Q3.
I think it’s because they are trying to sell of SMB/c and need to make sure they have people to keep it afloat until then. I’m not aware of anyone in smbc being cut
@a4 weeeewww weeeewwww the spelling police has arrived
@a4 people like you need to get a life, it was probably autocorrect, they spelt it correctly in main message.
Get a life and be useful to someone
It's non-core, not none-core.
Learn to read and write. It may do your career well after OT.
“Core” OSM is being hammered.
There is no method the madness.
