Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

The only laughter is about how bad things are

You can tell the state of a workplace by what people joke about. The only time you hear people genuinely laugh or smile is when someone's making a joke about how terrible things are or complaining about management. It's the one form of morale we have left, I guess.

"And at least a third of them would have no problem unplugging my life support machine to plug in and charge their cell phone."

The sentiment perfectly put into words! Well Done!

@ah@ad I wonder if he really knows just how much literally everyone hates him”

I have a suspicion that his ego is that give that he probably thinks people like him. I’m sure for 2-3 levels below him they don’t have the ba--s to tell him what people really think of him.

That said, I’m generally the kind of person who doesn’t really care what people think of me (except for my immediate family). However, I can’t fathom knowing 100k people hate my guts! And at least a third of them would have no problem unplugging my life support machine to plug in and charge their cell phone. 🤣

I stay because despite complaining a lot, AT&T is as good as I can get. Other companies aren't going to pay for my outdated skills.

I stay because my retirement is very near. I can’t imagine starting fresh with this company.
