Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Merry Christmas, Penny!

Psych! I hope Penny has a holiday season full of heartache, despair, and anxiety. She has caused the same for thousands of people. She deserves the same. So many people laid off and at EJ hate her.

@1wx was it someone who was ISP'd or was this some HBA who just got their status revoked?

Does anyone have the link to the Go Gund Me for the associate that committed su----e? How awful. This is precisely the kind of thing I was worried about with everything happening so close to the holidays. I hope this haunts the ELT members until the day they die. Laying people off while they spend money like drunken sailors and give our jobs to contractors offshore at our expense. Disgusting people.

I had no idea about him. I'm heartbroken. I know there have been comments about EJ being a place of work, and we are wrong for calling it a family. Im heartbroken, because I consider my fellow associates like family. That is how Ted Jones shaped this place. Ross, you deserved so much better, and I'm so sorry.

@1m1 What a preventable tragedy. I can't imagine what he went through and how he must have been suffering, and his family too.

I noticed the "open to work" banner on their LinkedIn when I heard the news so realized they had been ISP'ed, and noticed the timing was less than a week before the 11/15 last day and presumably the life insurance expired like all other benefits. I had hoped my first thoughts were wrong. I'm so sorry to hear about this.

There is still a Gofundme for his family if anyone wants to support. It can be found by searching the name. The firm has bl--d on their hands. All to save money for their own pockets and to send jobs to India. I'm furious.

Some excerpts from the Simple Sabotage Field Manual from the CIA for your reading pleasure: https://www.cia.gov/static/5c875f3ec660e092cf893f60b4a288df/SimpleSabotage.pdf Though it needs translating to modern day analogues.

Excerpts:

"For Managers and Supervisors: “Misunderstand” orders. Ask endless questions or engage in long
correspondence about such orders. Quibble over them when you can. Do everything possible to delay the delivery of orders. Even though
parts of an order may be ready beforehand, don’t deliver it until it is
complete. In making work assignments, always sign out the unimportant jobs first. See that the important jobs are assigned to inefficient workers or poor machines. When training new workers, give incomplete or misleading instructions. Multiply the procedures and clearances involved in issuing instructions, pay checks, and so on. See that three people have to approve everything where one would do.

For Office workers: Make mistakes in quantities of material when you are copying orders. Confuse similar names. Use wrong addresses. Misfile essential documents. Spread disturbing rumors that sound like inside dope. Work slowly. Contrive as many interruptions to your work as you can. Even if you understand the language, pretend not to understand instructions in a foreign tongue. Pretend that instructions are hard to understand, and ask to have them repeated more than once. Or pretend that you are particularly
anxious to do your work, and pester the foreman with unnecessary questions.

Do your work poorly and blame it on bad tools, machinery, or
equipment. Complain that these things are preventing you from doing your job right. Never pass on your skill and experience to a new or less skillful worker. Snarl up administration in every possible way. Fill out forms illegibly so that they will have to be done over; make mistakes or omit requested information in forms."

But none of this pettiness will bring back a precious life.

@1jr I hadn’t heard this, but it is heartbreaking. Condolences to his family and former teammates.

Hopefully this holiday season all of the leadership team is keeping close to their hearts the former associate who committed su----e because of being laid off. He was a husband and father to two young kids. These weren't just names on a spreadsheet, these were real people with very real families. But sure let's keep forging ahead like nothing happened and then post hundreds of job openings. I truly don't know how they live with themselves.

Penny strutting out to botch the coin toss while wearing custom made shoes with the word “humble” on them is laughable. She is literally tone deaf enough to not see the irony in this. Penny is truly just an empty pantsuit full of corporate jargon.

@OP The whole top shelf of 'leadership' here deserves every bit of negative karma they will get for what they have done this year. I hope they all spend Christmas with a stomach bug
