Is it going to happen on a Tuesday? I heard it was this Tuesday but now people are saying next Tuesday? Why Tuesday and not Friday?

@dy shareholders don’t actually dictate the minutiae of every initiative, dontchaknow
@aj shareholders don’t care about your weekend plans. Sorry.
@aa if it’s a massive number I don’t care what anyone says, their stock will nosedive. I understand shareholders respond to cost savings but a huge number is awful pr and shows nothing but panic. Not to mention Brian stays in a leadership position and they promote the “new” ceo from within so how big of changes are they really making?
@ad Maybe some Walmart people starting trouble? 😆
@ag that’s what I heard too from a reputable source.
A manager (before Target) once told me it’s unkind to let someone go right before the weekend starts. Nothing like coming home to your spouse on a Friday right before family weekend plans to say: “honey, I lost my job”.
Then have to show up at the bbq or kids soccer game with all the other parents on Saturday, while it’s all still fresh?
On a Tuesday everyone has 3 full business days to emotionally process some and touch up the resume and use their work brain to think about “what next”.
It’s just mean to do it right before the weekend.
I have a good source that says lay off meeting will be sent next Tuesday around 7AM.

Could be ~1,500 opened roles eliminated coupled with ~1,500 currently filled roles being eliminated. That would be similar to 2015.
Sometimes I feel.there are fake accounts here cooking up stuff
@a3 I heard 1250-1500 so hopefully my source was more accurate!
Does that number include closing open recs? If so, that makes more sense.
@a3 That’s a ton - 17%? Where did you hear that?
@a3 yes, where did you hear this from? That's a scary number
@a3 care to cite where you heard that?
I’ve heard close to 3500 people getting laid off :/ just wish we knew when
